I am the elf you are the gnome
From whence we came it is unknown
Magical Properties, hat, and a staff, and
a set of tight fitting clothes
We walked the forests of the North
Phantasmic creatures of this Earth
Fictional entities, bows, and swords, and
music filled with mirth
Filled with spritely mirth
I am the elf, you are the gnome
We battled mighty dragon's fire
Hailed the wizard celestial sire
Mystical heraldry, flame, and ritual,
we came when times were dire
We kept the evil ones at bay
We keep the dark lord locked away
Dastardly enemies, goblins, trolls, and
beasts who shun the day
They shun the light of day
I am the elf, you are the gnome
In modern times no one believes
In what one's faith can only see
Intangible fantasy, myth, and legend
All gone from nature's weave
Our white ships sailed into the West
In mountain halls our treasure rests
Lyrical poetry, prose, and songs
and lore of ancient guests
Lore of ancient guests
I am the elf, you are the gnome
